On 7 March 2026, the Association Luxembourgeoise des Traducteurs et Interprètes (ALTI) held its 7th Luxembourgish Translation and Interpreting Day. The date was chosen to coincide with the association’s 15th anniversary.

The occasion was celebrated with a birthday cake and a celebratory dinner, as well as a conference on translation, interpreting and multilingualism, bringing together well-known speakers from translation and interpreting, such as Guillaume Deneufbourg (FIT President), Chris Durban and Martin Will. The topics covered included the future of the profession, as well as literary translation, translation and revision in the age of machine translation, AI and interpreting.

To round off the conference, our special guest Philip Crowther spoke about his worldwide career as a polyglot reporter, before an exploration of how Luxembourgish multilingual brains work with Professor of Neuroscience Christine Schiltz.
