Learn skills for a bright future at ATA67

By Ben Karl
(ATA, President-Elect)

This year, the American Translators Association (ATA) is planning our best conference yet. We’ll be hosting ATA67, our 67th Annual Conference, from 28 to 31 October 2026 in San Francisco, California. And you’re all invited!

This year’s conference is for everyone who is serious about learning the skills needed to succeed in this new era. You do not need to be ATA certified, or even an ATA member, to attend. Plus, FIT association members can register for one, two, or all three days at the same rate as ATA members using the following codes: ATA67FITEarly1DAY, ATA67FITEarly2DAY, or ATA67FITEarly3DAY. Registration is already open. Learn more and reserve your spot by visiting our conference website at www.atanet.org/ata67.

Leave your heart in San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the United States’ most interesting and emblematic cities, with its unexpected topography, stunning vistas and scenery and vibrant culture. It has one of the US’s best-connected airports, so there’s probably a direct flight right from your home city (or your usual travel hub). There is no shortage of fun things to do in the City by the Bay before and after the conference, and our own ATA City Guide can help get the travel inspiration flowing. If you need a visa to travel to the US, we’ve created a special visa information page with an invitation letter you can use to apply. We recommend starting this process as soon as possible.

Four days of learning, connection and fun

Our last San Francisco conference, held exactly 10 years ago at the same hotel, was one for the books. This year promises to be just as memorable! With an exciting keynote, an international presidents’ panel featuring FIT President Guillaume Deneufbourg, 144 regular one-hour sessions and 16 hands-on Advanced Skills and Training day workshops, there is truly something for every translator, interpreter and terminologist looking to earn continuing education credit, do better work and build a more resilient business – across languages and specialisations. When you’re not learning, enjoy coffee breaks and structured networking sessions with incredible colleagues from all around the world. As ATA’s president-elect and conference organiser, I’ve been working hard to put together an amazing programme you won’t want to miss.

Plan your stay

We have reserved a limited number of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, the conference hotel, at a discounted rate for ATA67 attendees. Located just steps from public transit, the famous Ferry Building, and several of San Francisco’s most iconic neighbourhoods, you’ll be glad you stayed so close to the action. ATA rates are available as space allows. Learn more and book your hotel room here.
