In September 2025, the Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Provincia de Córdoba (CTPPC) participated for the first time in the FIT Statutory Congress and the XXIII FIT World Congress, both held at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This milestone marked the beginning of our institution’s international standing in the field of certified translation.
The XXIII FIT World Congress brought together delegations of translators, interpreters, and terminologists from professional associations around the world who acknowledged the achievements of the 2022–2025 mandate, addressed the challenges that lie ahead, and laid the foundation for the future of FIT. The sessions highlighted the need for rapid adaptation to technological changes, the consolidation of regional support centres, and the strengthening of FIT’s role as the voice of the profession on a global scale.
Elections for the new FIT Council for the 2025–2028 mandate were held during the Statutory Congress, and the President of CTPPC, Víctor Hugo Sajoza Juric, was elected to the governing body. This recognition marks the first time our province has been represented at an international level, reinforcing Córdoba’s commitment to the defence and promotion of certified translation.
The vice president of CTPPC, Sabrina Soledad Vaillard, was also a member of the delegation and participated in the Congress’ discussions and activities.
The CTPPC’s participation in Geneva made it possible to showcase the reality faced by certified translators in Argentina, strengthen ties with associations from other continents, and represent our professional association on the international stage. This is not only an institutional achievement, but also an opportunity to learn and collaborate that will benefit the entire translation community in Córdoba.
The CTPPC celebrates this debut at FIT, convinced that active participation in international forums is key to defending the profession and building a smart and ethical future for certified translators around the world.
