The Asociación Panameña de Traductores e Intérpretes (APTI) held its first annual general meeting on 15 February where members participated in a workshop on professional rates. The event facilitated discussions on fair pricing and market standards by comparing rates from translator and interpreter associations from around the world.
The workshop emphasised the importance of setting competitive yet sustainable rates, ensuring that professionals are compensated fairly for their expertise. Attendees examined industry trends, shared experiences, and reinforced the idea that translation and interpreting are specialised services that require proper remuneration.
This initiative also serves to educate clients who may attempt to undervalue language services. APTI remains committed to advocating for fair pay and promoting industry standards that reflect the value of linguistic professionals. APTI encourages all members to continue raising awareness about the importance of maintaining fair pricing in the profession.
