Come and celebrate with ATA this autumn! We’re turning 65!

This year, the American Translators Association (ATA) is celebrating 65 years of providing education, awareness, and fun for interpreters and translators all over the world. What better place to celebrate than our upcoming annual conference? All of you are invited to attend one of the biggest and best events for professional translators and interpreters, to be held this autumn from 30 October to 2 November 2024 in Portland, Oregon. Anyone and everyone can attend. You do not need to be certified or even an ATA member, but after coming to our conference, we’re positive you will want to become one. To learn more, visit www.atanet.org/ATA65.

Gathering in the Pacific Northwest

Portland, Oregon is a gem of the north-western United States, known for its stunning natural amenities and fun, quirky vibes. Opportunities for fun abound before, during, and after the conference, and the convenient international airport means most attendees, even from the most far-flung places, will be able to reach the city with just a single stopover. If you need a visa to travel to the US, we encourage you to start making arrangements as soon as possible. We’ve created a special visa information page with an invitation letter you can use to apply for your visa.

Four days of fun and learning

This year, ATA’s president-elect and conference organiser is putting together an amazing schedule of sessions you won’t want to miss. You’ll find more than 160 hours of continuing education across languages and specialisations, networking opportunities, and lots of extracurricular activities curated by ATA’s local chapter that you can do on your own or with colleagues. You can get the latest overview of the conference schedule and events happening around Portland here.

Seize the pillow! (book your room today)

A limited number of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center (conference headquarters hotel) and the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland have been reserved at a discount for ATA65 attendees. ATA rates are available until 4 October 2024, or as space allows. Learn more and book your hotel room here.

Register to attend

Conference registration will open by mid-July, so keep checking the conference website for updates. Remember, anyone can attend – you don’t need to be certified or even an ATA member. This year, FIT association members can attend for the same rate as ATA members. Joining ATA provides a host of other benefits throughout the year, well after the conference ends. Visit ATA’s website to discover the benefits of ATA membership.

We will look forward to welcoming you to an experience filled with learning, networking, and growth. See you in Portland!

Andy Benzo, President-Elect (ATA)
