The European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations (CEATL), which counts 34 associations from 26 European countries as members, is organising the European Conference on Literary Translation to be held from 2–4 October 2024 in Strasbourg, France, UNESCO’s World Book Capital for 2024.
As part of the collaboration between CEATL and FIT, CEATL has invited the Federation to be a partner of the event and gave it a “carte blanche” time slot on Friday 4 October.
The Conference will bring together a variety of literary translation stakeholders: translators, writers, publishers, booksellers, librarians, training institutions, residencies, book festivals and fairs, and the organisations supporting literary translation in Europe.
The working sessions, which will be held at the European Parliament, will be an unprecedented opportunity to discuss best practices and the challenges facing the industry (linguistic and editorial diversity, artificial intelligence, freedom of speech, etc.).
CEATL and its partners look forward to welcoming you on site or online.
